“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have but little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” Revelation 3:8
A welcome, an invitation or encouragement can be called an open door. It is primarily an opportunity to serve the Lord, even if it eventually becomes a guarantee for a better job or personal life. It is God given as an opportunity to individually advance His Kingdom. Our focus should be on spiritual door salvation. Jesus expects us to use it as an opportunity to reach out and invite others into his Kingdom. He has the key of David to open the door that no one can shut.
This signifies new chances, divine favor, or access to new ministries. The Apostle Paul, who often spoke of doors of opportunity opened by the Lord, such as in Ephesus where he saw clear evidence of God's activity. Nehemiah, seized the opportunity to rebuild Jerusalem's walls, and Esther, risked her life to advocate for her people. As His child you can do that unique one thing God shows you to do today though it might seem insignificant to other people!
We can also utilize our unique gifting with opportunities God places in our lives and be His ambassadors. There was only one apostle Paul and so there is only one you! Psalm 139:14 says, “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it”. In His eyes there are no mundane tasks. God asked Moses: “What is that in your hand?” We are ordinary but we are in the family of an extraordinary God who delights in us and we can accomplish what he brings our way with excellence without comparing to others. Each experience is unique and that’s the beauty of it all.
An encouragement from David to us in Psalm 34:7 that says at the right time, God will give us the desires of our hearts as we delight in him and align with his will, and He will open doors of blessings in our lives.
Pray your response to the Lord personally, meaningfully and genuinely!
Reflect:
Think of the open doors you walk through everyday. Is it possible to maximize those opportunities?
As you walk through your day utilize those opportunities God brings your way using your unique gift.
