Not for a Moment!

Well, God says to us daily, “I have inscribed your name on the palms of my hands, I don’t forget you, I’m committed to you, I’m thinking about you, caring for you and I actually have you at the forefront of my mind in all that I’m doing.” He is describing His love for us in Christ.  We are His sons and daughters.  He has this perfect picture of you everyday before Him thinking about you! How special and personal this is?

When someone gets a tattoo on their skin they are probably saying, “I want this fixed on me for as long as it can be. I want to remember this one thing as I constantly look at it because my attention is drawn to this, because it’s on me.”  This is a constant reminder as they go about their day.

In this world we sometimes seek approval from others to feel validated or struggle to feel good enough and strive to feel worthy. This is an insecure anxious attachment we  acquire in our lives to make us acceptable. But we forget that we are constantly before God who makes us secure.

God is consumed in a sense, about our care, providing for us by giving us what we need daily for life as we grow in our relationship with Him. This is such a powerful thought, we can individually just soak in.  Our interests are always before Him and He is intimately aware of everything going on.  Not only has He engraved us on his hands, but on his heart for all eternity and never to be removed!

David says in Psalm 139:14 “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!  Your workmanship is marvelous how well I know it”. Complex is not simple but sophisticated, intricate with a wide range of emotions.  We are made in His image.

We have a special place in Him and don’t have to seek the approval of this world or people because we have been approved by God, and that we can live out of this overflow everyday. He has adopted us into his family, his lineage and knows each one by name! Yes, He calls you by your name! You’re not forgotten not for a moment!

Pray your response to the Lord personally, meaningfully and genuinely.

Reflection:

When I feel forgotten or abandoned in my current circumstances, how does my name being inscribed on God's hands change my perspective about His love and presence?

What does that teach me about my security and my place in God’s care regardless of my failures?

Such a timely reminder Cathy. Thank you! Yes, often I “feel” not very precious to

God; but realize that is my own condemnation! God loves me, though I am unworthy…and sees the sacrifice and worthiness of His Son in us. How precious are your thoughts toward us Lord!
