Who Are You?

Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Romans 8:17
Have you ever asked this question: Who am I? Perhaps you were assigned a task beyond your ability or asked to do something out of your comfort zone. Well, Moses asked God the same question. God had seen the misery of the Israelites in Egypt and decided to deliver them. He chose Moses as the best candidate for the job and extended the invitation to him to be involved in liberating them.
Moses had a unique meeting with God where he asked all his questions and God gave him all the answers he needed. He had self-perceived inadequacies, fear of rejection by the Israelites and Pharaoh, he said he was not eloquent and felt incompetent. God reminded Moses that all he needed to say was that “I AM” had sent him. Does this sound like us sometimes when faced with a difficult task or decision?
There is a difference between healthy fear and unhealthy fear. Have you ever been afraid of rejection? Has God ever asked you to trust him or share your faith with someone and you were afraid? Moses didn’t have to provide his own answers. They were available for when he would need them. God always gives us the answers at the right time when we ask him and remain in His presence.
We might experience emotions like fear, insecurity, rejection, hopelessness and many others. But, we have the example of Moses. He became a hero for the Israelites by his obedience to God, not because of his natural abilities or qualifications. He was dependent on God’s faithfulness. He is the same God we can also depend upon when he assigns us tasks that appear difficult or impossible for us. We have several examples in the Bible who were not perfect but relied on God.
Do you ever wonder who you are? Well only the Lord knows your worth because He created you in His own image and decided you were worth dying for! So we can have confidence when we read Mathew 6:33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Pray your response to the Lord personally, meaningfully and genuinely!
Reflection:
Who can I intentional share with, show the love of Christ to, declare the transformative power of the Gospel to this week?
