…., “Then show me your glorious presence.” Exodus 33:18

The destiny was the Promised Land, God’s original plan.  Moses was given the task of leading the children of Israel but along the way there had been obstacles that slowed this journey. As the leader, he took responsibility to intercede for his people who had been disobedient.  He specifically asked the Lord “who” would accompany him on this journey. Moses needed a different perspective or viewpoint. This would be a spiritual place, a revelation in his spirit to actually enable him see where he was going.

God is the source of life and the ultimate definer of reality.  We can see that Moses had such a close relationship with God. In verse 17 – God told Moses, “I will indeed do what you have asked, for I look favorably on you, and I know you by name.  Isn’t it exciting to know that God personally knows your name today! God also says you are wonderfully made!   Moses said to Him, “then show me your glory”.  He was asking for God’s real lasting presence.  God reveals, conceals, blesses and protects us through all our endeavors and asks.

One of the first devotionals I wrote on this blog, I forwarded it to a friend who immediately sent me an encouraging message to say that it was uplifting and she subscribed to it.  She consistently read the devotionals until recently when she went to be with Jesus. Her earthly name means ”joy”. Joy is   possibly her heavenly name! It is encouraging to know that she is with the one she loved most. Our real hope is in God who has set eternity within the heart of humanity.

She loved hanging out for coffee, developing her career and studying but most of all serving Jesus wholeheartedly. Such a great teacher and encourager to kids and others. She displayed so much resilience even when going through her difficult health challenges.   During her celebration, it was so touching to hear her young nephew read 2 Tim 4: 7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.  And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.” Such a great encouragement!  We are made for heaven. This isn’t home. She is surely experiencing this glory in even a greater measure in “a new dimension” today!

God reveals Himself to us in His own way, just as He did to Moses and others.  Our part is to individually ask Him to show us his glory his way as we connect with him daily wherever He has placed us.

Pray your response to the Lord personally, meaningfully and genuinely.

Reflections:

Our God sees beyond our limitation and inadequacies and has a divine plan for us to achieve the extraordinary!

Trust in God’s providence even if you can’t see it working yet because it is working! Each day you are writing your personal story!
