Expectation

When we wait in anticipation unlike passive waiting, we are in a state of readiness and eagerness for what is to yet to come. While on a journey, by plane, ship, car or any other means of transportation there is that excitement of arriving at your destination.

We see God’s greatness in nature and in His Word. He created the world and is intimately familiar with every part and everything in the universe that humans will never discover. His Word is flawless and able to protect those who trust in Him. There is that expectancy of what is yet to come.

The richness of God’s Word should drive us to adoration.  Do we get awestruck with God?  Day by day we discover that every Word of God is flawless and true. It is so rich as we are  reminded in I Corinthians 2:16 “But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit.  For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.”  Our lives are forever changed when we realize that God is perfect and we are not and there is much more to come that we cannot comprehend.

As we spent time with Him in listening and in his Word he gives us the privilege of being like him. We are so blessed to have Jesus living inside us enabling us to have the mind of Christ. He thinks His thoughts within us, and allows us to share his mind.  We are reminded this by Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:16 For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

Pray your response to the Lord personally, meaningfully and genuinely!

Reflect:

How would you describe this generation with regard to how God sees us?

What are a few qualities of God that leave you awestruck?
