That Voice

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27
Sheep are best known for their strong flocking and following instinct. They will run from what frightens them and band together in large groups for protection. This is the only protection they have from predators.
We face a lot of noise today. Noise from so many different sources. This emphasizes the intimate relationship where believers recognize, know, and actively follow Jesus, receiving eternal life and protection. Spending time in His company gaining complete trust. We choose the posture of hearing, listening and following God’s voice just as sheep hear and follow the voice of their shepherd. The relationship between the shepherd and the sheep is very close. One of the marks of belonging to Jesus is the ability to hear His voice.
Not only is God around us but He wants to interact with us. We belong to him and he wants to talk to us. We don’t have to try to find God, we need to listen for Him just like the analogy of the sheep and the Shepherd shared in the link below.
God’s presence changes us as we slow down, make space to hang out with him, in a relaxed posture. He speaks to us in different ways; through the Bible mostly, God’s people, circumstances, nature, music and worship, nudges, and other ways He chooses. Psalm 46:10 says ““Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
At times there is a behavior in human beings where they flock like sheep subconsciously following a minority of individuals. It describes how people can be influenced by their peers to adopt certain behaviors (whether offline or online).
Take 15 minutes to listen to what God wants to say to you now or in your own time of choice. Pray your response to the Lord personally, meaningfully and genuinely!
Reflect:
What was the last thing you heard God say to you? Has it been a while since you heard from Him?
