The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
John 1:9
The Light pierces the darkness and cannot be extinguished. It’s so easy to lose sight of what’s to come when things are so difficult in the here and now that may appear to look dark! May we never take our eyes off the returning King. Let us stay true to our Savior and continue to grow in faith.
Once and for all, Jesus fulfilled Isaiah's prophecy; he is the light of the world. When the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds, the demonstration happened, the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were frightened. Immanuel shines brightest on the darkest of days in our lives. Hope lives within our hearts enabling us to shine bright so that others see Jesus. We allow light to shine through our actions and behavior.
God is the source of all the good we have and all the good we crave for. He does not change when our circumstances change and to Him darkness and light don’t make a difference. One of His qualities is being "immutable" (unchangeable.) “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8. And in Malachi 3:6 He says, “I am the Lord, and I do not change.” While everything around us is changing, we can depend on God continually showing us His grace, love, and compassion. He does not change, his essence, character and purpose. He is the shining light during this wonderful season of Christmas celebration!
Thank you Lord for always being a light in the dark places of the world and the dark places of our lives. Our hope is in you, for you are the light of the world and you call us to be lights for others. May your light and love blaze in us and in all the world in this season and always.
Meditate on: “For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' may his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." 2Cor. 4:6
