A Firm Grip!

A great reminder to focus on is that our fears are met with God’s active presence, supernatural strength, and unwavering support. Here are the five promises directly spoken to us from God: I am with you; I am your God; I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you. This are profound promises of God’s presence, comfort, and unwavering support in times of fear or difficulty.

God speaks these promises over us but the enemy’s strategy is to create unhealthy fear in us. This is fear that imagines danger to keep us from walking in freedom of Christ.  The enemy fights hard to cause us to freeze, be unable to move so that he can take us out or slow us down from God’s best for us.

The promises are a timeless reminder to overcome our everyday anxieties. Whether it is facing health issues, financial stress, or personal uncertainty, we should trade our worries for confidence in God's mighty, protective grip. 1 Timothy 5:7 states that “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Deep-rooted fear can cause us build walls, be numb and seek help from elsewhere, believe lies or avoid anything that will remind us of that fear. We can do this in our effort thinking we are self-protecting. God is our hiding place where we can focus and find the help we need.  He calls us to trust him and walk in obedience.  David reminds us this in Psalm 119:60 “I will hurry without delay to obey your commands.”

Pray: Pray your response to the Lord personally, meaningfully and genuinely.

Reflection: Everyday anxiety is fear that has found a home in our hearts!

"Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you". Isaiah 41:10 (the Message)
